Stitch Spaced is an independent collection of small planning tools for knitting and crochet. We focus on the arithmetic behind a specific finishing problem: distributing pickups, fitting a border repeat, or placing button centers.
Our approach
Every tool includes a visible method, a reproducible example, editable assumptions and a working plan. Calculations run in your browser. You do not need an account, and your measurements are not uploaded to a processing service.
The planners use deterministic arithmetic, not AI-generated instructions. Core calculations are checked with automated tests for totals, rounding, invalid inputs and edge cases. The craft result still depends on your swatch, tension and pattern. These are planning aids, not tested garment patterns or professional fitting advice.
What we do not promise
We cannot guarantee that a border will lie flat, that a button band will fit, or that every pattern’s conventions match the inputs. Start with a small sample. A detailed explanation of each tool’s limits appears below its calculator.
Independent and free
All three calculators are free. There are no paid plans or checkout on this site. No advertising or analytics scripts have been added to this version. If that changes, this page and the privacy notice will be updated before those integrations are enabled.
